Booking and Deposit

How to Book

We recommend you complete the enquiry form, email or phone us with your preferred dates as soon as possible and we will hold these dates provisionally for five days until we have received a deposit of £100. Please also complete and sign the booking form and enclose this along with your deposit.

Should we not receive your deposit within five days your booking will remain provisional and as such your chosen dates can be made available to other enquirers.

Full payment of the outstanding balance is required 60 days prior to the arrival date.
Please ensure you have read and agree with our terms and conditions prior to booking.

Deposit

If your booking is made within 60 days of the date of arrival full payment is required in advance to secure your booking. For all other bookings a £100 deposit is required within five days of your booking being made.

Please send your deposit via online bank transfer (details on the booking form) and completed booking form to stay@northberwickcottage.co.uk 

NB: A booking is considered to be provisional until a deposit or full payment has been received. Your booking may be released should a deposit not be received within two days.

Damage Deposit

A refundable damage deposit of £100 per booking is required. Please send this with final payment.

Cancellation Policy – COVID-19

In the event of a cancellation during the rest of 2020, the following terms and charges will apply:

If you have to cancel due to Covid-19/lockdown government regulations restricting travel a full refund including deposit will apply. However, If you cancel for any other reason the following cancellation charges will apply.

          • 6 months or more prior to arrival – a full refund minus £50 administration fee applies
          • 60 days or more – 25% of the full amount will due
          • 31-59 days – 50% of the full amount will be due
          • 30 days or less – full rental fee will be due if cancellation occurs:
          • We highly recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover this eventuality

Old Abbey Cottage – Terms and Conditions

1. Old Abbey Cottage is to be used for holiday purposes only.

2. A contract of booking is made when we have received your booking details and the reservation deposit and we have confirmed the booking to you. The deposit is non-refundable.

3. Old Abbey Cottage shall not be sub-let to any third party.

4. The people occupying the premises shall be limited to those persons whose names are stated on the booking form. Any name changes shall be notified in advance of arrival.

5. You are obliged to vacate the premises, without demand, by 10am on the agreed departure date of the holiday.

6. Any loss or damage (beyond fair wear and tear) of furnishings or fittings inside or within the grounds of the cottage shall be paid for. A separate £100 security deposit must be received with the final payment at least 60 days prior to arrival.

7. You agree to keep the cottage clean and tidy condition and leave it in the same way prior to departure. A charge may apply, which will be deducted from your security deposit, for any unreasonable amount of cleaning at the termination of hire.

8. You shall undertake to prevent any member of your party from causing a nuisance or disturbance or exhibiting any anti-social behaviour.

9. You undertake to leave the premises secure if left unoccupied during the period of let.

10. Whilst the property is insured for our own buildings and contents this does not include the contents of our guests. In the unlikely event of theft or damage to your own personal belongings, including your car and its contents, this must be covered by your own personal insurance/s. We recommend you take holiday insurance.

11. You undertake to permit the owners and their agents reasonable access to the property for the purposes of maintenance and inspection.

12. In the event of cancellation please refer to the above specially updated Covid-19 cancellation policy above.

13. In the event of the owners needing to cancel a booking every effort will be made to find alternative similar accommodation. If this is not possible a full refund of all monies will be given.

14. The owners may treat the booking as cancelled if the balance of the hire fee is not received 60 days prior to the arrival date.

15. You undertake to relieve the owners of any liability for damage or injury, however caused, by any member of your party.

16. Your car may be parked, at your own risk, free of charge outside the property.

17. The owners, their agents or employees, accept no responsibility/liability for loss, injury, damage or expense to any member of your party or their property, howsoever caused, arising in any manner out of the let of the premises. The owners carry Public Liability Insurance.

18. You must notify any shortcomings with the property to the owner immediately so that remedial action, if appropriate, can be taken.

Please ensure all appropriate members of your party have read and agree with the above.

Other Information

1. Rental includes electricity, towels, tea towels and bed linen and Wifi.

2. Beds have duvets and pillows which are non-allergenic

3. Some basic provisions are provided on arrival including milk, tea and coffee, salt and pepper. Washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags and adequate cleaning materials are also provided.

4. There is no telephone in the property

5. The property is supplied with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery

6. There is a small BBQ provided. Brickets and fire lighters can be provided on request for a nominal charge. The BBQ may be used at your own risk. Please ensure this is left clean on departure.

7. All lets start from 4pm and departure is strictly by 10am, unless specifically agreed otherwise

9. You can order online shopping. However please arrange for delivery to the cottage after your arrival.
